About Agria Petinsure
At Agria, we do pet insurance differently.
The Agria Story
Agria Djurförsäkring was founded in Sweden in 1890 and insures 1.3 million pets and horses. The international expansion strategy is strong and growing; today, the company has operations in nine countries and is a market leader in Sweden and Norway.
Agria is one of the world’s leading pet insurers. Agria Petinsure was established in Ireland in 2023 and is now a prominent feature of the Irish pet insurance industry, providing insurance for cats and dogs. Our mission is to provide the best care for pets and peace of mind for their owners by providing insurance solutions and complementary services.
Agria has become a keen supporter of numerous voluntary organisations striving to promote the welfare of animals. We arrange charity events for homeless dogs and cats annually with engaged pet owners.
How does Agria Petinsure contribute to research for healthier animals?
Agria Research Foundation has supported research for animals since 1938 every year. The foundation aims to improve health and wellness among pets and horses and develop a more profound knowledge of the connection between animals and humans. The results are used by veterinarian clinics, breeders, and the general animal owner.
How does Agria Petinsure work with sustainability?
We are convinced that being close to animals promotes human health and is an important part of a sustainable society – our sustainability work is also based on this mission. Agria’s pursuit of sustainability runs through all areas of the company and takes place in close communication with management, customers, employees, suppliers, partners, industry and interest organizations. In December 2016, Länsförsäkringar / Agria signed the UN Principles for Sustainable Insurance – PSI (Principles for Sustainable Insurance) as the first Swedish insurance company.
How is our insurance different?

- Lifetime cover with up to €4,000 vet fees cover.
- We have our own in-house health team who provide ongoing healthcare advice; including a specialist vet, behaviourist and nutritionist to help support pet owners.
- We provide Third Party Liability upto €250,000.
